- Old Wedding Photograph
(1940s) – Before and After
This wedding photograph, taken
in the 1940s, was submitted to Creina Stanton
Photography for improvement. You will see
in the images below that the original photograph
was torn, scratched and covered in blemishes.
The background was also very distracting
so the photograph was cropped to remove
the unnecessary house, foliage and grass.
The tear was repaired and the scratches
and spots removed. The final image
could be printed in either black and white
or sepia. |

- Puppy – Before
and After
Creina Stanton was invited
to photograph an adorable litter of golden
retriever puppies. The photoshoot was a
challenge! The puppy, Lucy, did not
want to co-operate as there were many new
sights and smells to explore. Eventually
Lucy’s owner held her for us to snatch
a quick shot. The disadvantage to
this method was that the owner’s neck,
shirt and thumb were in the image and created
a messy background! All these distractions
were therefore removed and the eyes and
nose of the puppy lightened to give more
detail. You will see that the finished
image is a great improvement. |

- Butterfly –
Before and After
Nature photography is one
of Creina Stanton’s great loves. We
were pleased with our image of a Fritillary
butterfly until, when we returned to the
studio near Taunton in Somerset, we noticed
that the butterfly had a damaged wing.
It seemed a pity to discard a good photograph
so the wings were repaired with digital
imaging software. This kind of technique
can also be applied to the removal of the
classic telegraph pole growing out of your
subject’s head! |

- Ducks – Before
and After
The challenge to Creina Stanton,
Nature Photographer, is to take a good photograph.
However, sometimes digital techniques can
be used to make an image much stronger.
We particularly liked the picture of the
ducks but thought it could be improved.
The ducks were in a pen and we did not like
the wire in the background so it was removed.
We also preferred an image in which the
ducks were closer together so more ducks
were added!
This technique can be applied to any image
so it is possible to seat two individuals
on the same sofa even though the photographs
of the people may have been taken in adjacent
rooms or even different countries! |
We are pleased to be able
to offer a personal repair and restoration service
to meet your requirements. Please contact
Creina Stanton, Nature Photographer, Taunton,
Somerset to discuss your needs.
